Junior League of Greenville’s Home Run for Healthy Kids Set for October 25-26

GREENVILLE, S.C.—The Junior League of Greenville (JLG) eleventh annual Home Run for Healthy Kids event is set for October 25 and 26 at Fluor Field.

“This free field trip is designed to educate and excite Greenville’s fourth graders,” said Genevieve Mendes Weaver, JLG’s Home Run for Healthy Kids (HRHK) Committee Chairwoman. “Many of these Title I school children would not have the opportunity to attend a game at The Greenville Drive’s Fluor Field. Not only do they get to come to the stadium, but they also get to run the bases on the field.”

The JLG’s Home Run for Healthy Kids Committee coordinates, organizes and directs the entire event with assistance from over 100 JLG volunteers.

At HRHK, the children will visit 17 different stations that promote healthy lifestyles. These include activities that teach about healthy food choices, neighborhood safety, railroad safety, dental and eye health, and more.
